3月對朝陽人來說，是專屬的歡慶。回顧31年前，在霧峰的山崗上，誕生並經營出一所現今擁有全球最佳大學排名的高等學府，今年更榮登美國新聞與世界報導(U.S. News & World Report) 2024-2025年全球最佳大學排名，連續兩年進榜英國高等教育排名機構(QS)世界大學排名。當我們在這裡分享榮譽與快樂時，飲水思源，首當感謝創辦人，由於創辦人的前瞻視野與服務奉獻，創辦朝陽科技大學，朝陽才能夠有如此的根基。31年來，朝陽人散佈在社會各階層，努力奮發工作勇於付出，創造自我價值，更樹立專業口碑，為國家社會服務，體現本校社會價值。
朝陽科大已經31歲了，31是每月的最後一天，代表邁向新的開始，新的階段。任何新的開始，都是經驗的累積和智慧的鍛鍊。在歡慶朝陽31年之時，首先要和大家分享這一年來的校務績效和榮譽，其次是與師生思考如何在新的歷史階段，迎接未來的挑戰，為朝陽的榮耀里程碑繼續努力。
朝陽辦學31有成。31年的歷程，見證了朝陽的成長與蛻變，也代表朝陽將邁入新的階段、新的挑戰與新的契機。因應生成式AI技術帶來的變革，本校將AI技術優化導入碳盤查、環境永續、氣候變遷等永續課程領域，同時帶領學生們進行物聯網、大數據、智慧機器人、數位多媒體和智慧商務研發及產學合作，在既有的優勢下攜手專長整合，加速加大培養符合國家社會需求人才，同時創造更具人文情懷的市場行銷感動，無畏面對新學習與新挑戰。期勉全體師生同仁都應持續努力，無論在教學行政研究方面，或是大學社會責任的實踐，以創新作為掌握新契機，成人達己，方能行穩致遠。
今天我們正身處於數位科技快速發展的元世代。無可諱言，生成式AI的興起為學習與生活帶來了前所未有的便利。然而，過度依賴科技所帶來的風險也日益顯現。面對生成式AI的挑戰，盼望師生同仁應回歸根本，運用上天所賦予的原智慧來審視與應用新技術，以思考力、判斷力與創造力，將科技視為錦囊工具，不斷地吸取新知、自省內化，將知識轉化為實踐，透過實踐推促前進，成就自己。如此，無論科技發展如何變化，必將為我所控、為我所用。
31年來，朝陽憑藉著厚實的基礎以及全體教職同仁的努力，迅速擴張了辦學影響力，累積進入世界大學排名的實力。迄今朝陽的辦學績效和國際學術聲望，逐年向上攀升。盼請國際姐妹校與全球碩學先進時賜教益，把這份源生於臺灣土地的辦學優秀經驗，向國內外延伸，為世界各地青年提供更優質的教育機會，同時凝聚我們的校際友誼和砥礪辦學智慧。最後，祝福
Good morning, distinguished guests, alumni, faculty, and students,
Time flies! It feels like we just celebrated our 30th anniversary, and yet here we are again, marking Chaoyang’s 31st birthday. Today, we reflect on our journey with gratitude and look ahead with confidence. Our commitment to excellence, globalization, and sustainability continues to guide us through challenges and achievements.
Over the past year, Chaoyang has continued to shine globally. We ranked among the world’s best in THE World University Rankings for the eighth consecutive year and listed in the QS Sustainability Rankings and U.S. News & World Report’s Best Global Universities Rankings. We also placed among the Top 50 in the UI GreenMetric World University Rankings and received the ACEEU Asia-Pacific Triple E Award for social engagement. Locally, we were honored as a Model Sustainable University and ranked first in University Brand Rankings among private technological universities.
Our faculty and students continue to excel. Nine professors were ranked among the world’s top 2% of scientists. Our students earned top awards, including the Red Dot Design Award, Architecture MasterPrize, ITEX Malaysia gold medals, and honors at the Golden Bell and Golden Horse Awards. These achievements reflect our strong commitment to excellence.
However, as we move forward, we must also recognize the challenges ahead.
First, the challenge of a declining birth rate. With fewer students and growing competition, universities must stand out. At Chaoyang, we see this as an opportunity to innovate. We enhance our programs, expand global partnerships, and create a truly inclusive and multicultural learning environment to attract students from around the world.
Second, financial sustainability. As funding models change, we must explore new strategies - strengthening industry ties, securing research grants, and engaging our global alumni network – to ensure we continue providing world-class education while managing resources wisely.
Third, the impact of digital transformation and AI. The future of education is being reshaped, and we must prepare our faculty and students for this fast-changing world. AI will not replace humans, but those who use AI will gain a competitive advantage. Our goal is to help faculty and students master these tools. By focusing on digital infrastructure, cross-field learning, and innovative teaching, we aim to nurture the next generation of global AI talent.
At the heart of our mission is sustainability – not just in caring environment but in securing our long-term success and contribution to society. We will continue intensifying our role as a sustainable university, making a lasting impact in Taiwan and beyond.
I want to express my deepest gratitude to our founder, board of trustees, faculty and staff, students, alumni, and everyone who has been part of our journey. With excellence as our foundation, globalization as our vision, and sustainability as our commitment, I am confident that Chaoyang will continue to grow and shine.
